Respect for Vivienne Westwood

She's 66 years old and today, as I was cycling across Clapham Common I saw a shock of orange hair hurtling towards me. As the hair got closer, I realised that it actually belonged to none other than Dame Vivienne really going for it on her bike.

She could probably afford to be chauffered around London, but instead she gets on her bike and makes full use of the common.

I hope I'm as active when I'm 66.

Oh - and McD says that he saw 'Ricardo' from The Salon in Sainsburys last night.

The terrible commute to work

Oh the tedium of sitting in traffic jams, with nothing to see but belching exhaust pipes and stressed school-run Mummies.

Here's a little secret - if you ride a bike you don't have to travel everywhere by road. So you can avoid all this and get to work not feeling like you want to strangle the next person who talks to you. And the only thing it costs you is a few thousand calories each week.

(Hello to Emily, by the way!)
