Challenge

Skechers, a US Based, global footwear manufacturer, had a single "rest of world" site (everything outside of the US) which was little more than a place to list latest products. Recognising their growing European and South American markets, the challenge was to recreate this catch-all site as something that would showcase their products, be simple to administer and drive sales.

To add even more spice to the project, each of the territories covered by Skechers had different ranges of products and number of stockists, so the site had to be extremely flexible to allow for international roll-out. Additionally Skechers produce shoes for men, women and children and naturally the site design needed to accommodate this hugely varied audience..

Solution

We created an engaging user interface that would showcase the products with simple calls to action. We wanted to reflect the sense of energy and movement that was portrayed in their above-the-line advertising.

At the same time, we had to make it really easy for people to be able to see what was available in their locations, and crucially, drive them to their nearest stockists.

We created a quick country and language selector, which updates the site with the correct information but retains a consistent template. We also developed a Google mashup store locator.

Outcome

Having a well-built site with multiple languages has driven traffic from a fairly good base to a totally awesome one. People are staying longer on the site and sales have increased significantly in the territories covered, despite tough trading conditions.

The next phase is for us to create a dialogue with customers and increase the longer term value from their growing customer base. We are going to be engaging social media and customer relationship marketing over the next 12 months and expect to create a lot more value for this vibrant brand.
