I couldn't live without.... the trainline app

Regular readers of our blog will know that the last post of the month is normally Grinds My Gears - a negative rant about something or other. Well we’ve had enough of all the moaning, so from now on we’re going to be sharing with you some little gems from the digital world. Each month a member of the Codegent team will be interviewed about an app, website or gadget that they couldn’t live without (we’ll try to avoid obviously plugging our own products!) It doesn't matter how new or old, how simple or complex it is, as long as (for whatever reason) we love it! Hopefully you'll find our new feature at least a little bit interesting, it will give you some insight into the different personalities in the Codegent team and you never know you might even enjoy it :-)

What couldn’t you live without?
As a Londoner without a car I love all the decent travel apps: Bus Countdown, Hailo, Tube Delux etc. but my heart belongs to one of the originals - the Trainline.

In a nutshell, what is it?
A free app that lets you check train times, plan and book your journey.

Why does it rock your world?
Every weekend I seem to be going somewhere by train so as a planner with no patience it’s essential. I can work out what time I need to get up or leave the pub so that I arrive at the station exactly when I need to. It’s a well-designed app that’s simple to use and remembers your favourite stations making it really quick to find the info you want.

What’s your favourite feature?

I love it when I’m out somewhere unfamiliar and simply by pressing “Next train home
